Photography has long been a love of mine, but like many of the best lovers, it has spent most of its time out of reach and neglected; we are an unreasonable species. In my youth I played with darkrooms and enlargers and quantities of unfathomable chemicals, with very mixed results. Inevitable, the photo labs did a far better job than I.

In modern times I have found myself in the digital world of Nikon and Photoshop; entry level, for the most part, but still the combination has opened for me the creativity that aluded me in the past. Basically, it has become bleedin' easier!

I carry a camera quite a lot now, and even remember to use it from time to time. I am not especially good, but I have a lot of fun. I enjoy the process of trying to get the framing right and the sun in the right place and then pulling it into photoshop and seeing where I can take it next. I probably over process and do not let my subjects speak for themselves enough, but I am from the land of words where the author dictates the rhyme and reason, so I cannot help but play.
