Garlic Bulb lying broken on Steel Sheet

This uses a mixture of daylight and tungsten lighting to add warmth. The steel sheet is layed within a black cloth to reduce unintended light reflections.

The final image was processed in Photoshop to darken the shadows slightly.

Tomato Half on Steel

This is a tomato picked from our green house. The light is directed to make the most of the natural water from the slice. It was important to take the photo as soon as possible after cutting the tomato.

Signet

Taking wildlife can be really hard. Unless that is that they suddenly decide you are more interesting than they are.

I failed to get a shot of the mother as she tried to get the dog treats out of my pocket - I suspect the signet was acting as a decoy by looking as cute and photogenic as possible.

Frozen River

Nothing will get me out of my door on a cold morning better than bright sunshine and a shimmering frost!

This photograph is of an old mill race. I was particularly attracted to the twigs and other debris that had been lifted above the ice.

Berries

Macro photography when just out for a walk is a risky business requiring a steady hand - something I lack a little.

The aquisition of a walking stick come monopod has helped enormously and the bright, sunny day made it all just that bit easier.
