| Olive Oil | Oil extracted from olives. Particularly associated with the Mediterranean, Olive Oil is particularly associated with Greece and Italy, but it is used extensively throughout the region. It has a very high level of monounsaturated fat and is seen as a healthy food in moderation. Good olive oil is sold at a premium price outside the region which makes is a luxury item - a pity when the alternatives tend to be far less healthy. |
