Luncheon

What have the British got against Lunch?

This is one of those things that we really have got wrong over a very long period, and in the process of demoting lunch to some obstacle to get round, have let the fast food joints in big time.

Lunch is not a sandwich, or a quick snack, or something you do while chatting on the phone, it is the point of the day when you stop and breath, take stock, and get ready for the rest of the day. The French have got this one right - 2 hours is the average French lunch break, just long enough to mark this as the most important meal of the day. Dinner time, during the week, is a but a gentle full stop; an old English supper, perhaps. But Luncheon is where important things happen. Eating.

So here will be a collection of things for lunch - not to be rushed, not to be eaten on the move, but to appreciated sitting down and as far from Burger King as possible.

Lunch breaks is dead - long live Luncheon!
