The BBC have over the years had a policy which forbade the use of the terms Hoover and Selotape, preferring to use Vacuum Cleaner and Sticky back plastic tape, because it would be seen to promote these products. And quite right too. So, why do they insist on calling downloadable material "Podcasts"? This term was invented by Apple Specifically to promote the IPod. Tags: ipod bbc hoover selotape |
