Sadly we have lost our local green grocer. We are left with the variable produce from an unedifying market or supermarkets. An allotments is our saving grace! Getting a decent tomato in this country is nearly impossible.

However, last time I was in Wales I came a cross a high street with the most marvellous green grocer. Nearly all of his produce was from local farms so close you could have almost walked. He had his own little piece of land on which he grew wonderful herbs - picked an put straight on the shelf.

I admit, there are not many like him left. Hopefully you know of some and can tell the rest of us.
