Really, a delicatessen and a grocer are the same thing. But we get easily confused in the UK.

What I am looking for are those exceptional outlets that sell hams, cheeses, pasta, rice, spices, canned duck, biscuits, ice cream, olive oil - all the bits and pieces that can bring a kitchen and a lunch table to life so quickly.

Cheese Shops, Cold Meats, smokeries, bakers - the line between them can be difficult to contemplate sometimes, so they can all cuddle up here.
