The mill is owned and run by Paul and Graham Matthews, the great, great grandsons of the original founder, Frederick Matthews.
Situated
on the edge of the beautiful Cotswold hills in the village of Shipton
under Wychwood since 1912, this traditional mill produces a wide range
of quality organic and conventional flours. We still use the original
building (see above and side) that was completed in 1912. We aim to
source as much wheat locally as possible and then carefully blend with
other wheats to produce flour of the highest quality.
From Me: I buy French flours from them - they are stunningly good and really friendly to deal with. If I phone them to order we end up chatting about bread making for ages. But you can also buy from their online shop. Two things to do in your like - learn to bake bread and use flour bought here! |
